Description: Blues forward Chris Stewart had a goal and two assists Saturday night against the Ducks.
Insight: Those were Stewart's first and second assists of the season. He's more of a goal scoring specialist, but he does that well and his PIM contributions make him a decent fantasy play.

Description: Blues forward Chris Stewart had a goal on five shots and a plus-two differential Saturday in a win over Dallas.
Insight: Stewart has three goals in the first five games after putting up 15 last season. He's a decent fantasy option due to his ability to rack up PIM.

Description: The NHL has suspended Chris Stewart three games for his hit from behind on Niklas Kronwall during Tuesday's Red Wings-Blues game. TSN
Insight: Stewart hadn't been suspended before, although the type of hit he delivered to Kronwall is the type that the NHL is trying to eliminate. Stewart has been largely ineffective this year with just five points (3g-2a) in 17 games.

Description: Chris Stewart scored a goal and added two assists with a +2 in the Blues' 10-3 win over Detroit on Wednesday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: Stewart has now scored 14 goals in 21 games as a member of the Blues. He is also on a four-game goal streak and a five-game point streak. Why Colorado decided to give him up is still a mystery.

Description: Chris Stewart scored two goals in the Blues' 3-2 shootout loss to Minnesota on Tuesday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: Stewart now has 26 goals, including goals in each of his last three games. In 20 games in a Blues' uniform, Stewart has already racked up 13 goals. The Avalanche have to already be regretting trading him.

3/10/2011 12:43:00 AM
Description: Chris Stewart scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, with a +2 in the Blues' 4-3 win over Columbus on Wednesday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: Since his trade from Colorado, Stewart has paid some immediate dividends to the Blues. In 11 games, Stew has already racked up nine goals, including four 2-goal games. He is also on a four-game point streak, so he should no doubt be active in all leagues right now.

Description: Chris Stewart scored two goals in the Blues' 5-0 win over Edmonton on Friday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: Since being acquired from Colorado in a surprise trade one week ago, Stewart has been the beast that the Blues were hoping he would be. With six goals in five games as a Blue, Stewart is using his size (6'2", 228 lbs.) as an asset to score goals in front of opponents' nets. Stewart has recorded three 2-goal games in his very short time as a Blue thus far, making it seem as if St. Louis has already won the deal with Colorado.

Description: Stewart pumped in two goals and was the game's first star in his St. Louis debut.
Insight: The forward learned he was traded late Friday night to a team against which he had scored eight goals and 15 points in nine career games. Perhaps it's just the involvement of the Blues sweater that gets him going rather than having St. Louis as an opponent. (RapidDraft.com)

2/20/2011 1:30:00 AM
Description: Chris Stewart scored two power-play goals in the Blues' 9-3 win over Anaheim on Saturday. Yahoo Sports
Insight: Stewart was playing his first game as a Blue since being acquired from the Colorado Avalanche less than 24 hours before. Kevin Shattenkirk, who was also acquired by the Blues on Friday night, assisted on one of Stewart's goals. Stewart has now scored goals in back-to-back games, although he had scored just one goal in a 17-game span before that. The Blues have already benefitted from what might be the NHL's biggest trade of the season.

2/19/2011 10:01:00 PM
Description: Stewart was dealt to the Blues Saturday as part of the trade that sent Erik Johnson to Colorado.
Insight: Stewart did score in his last game with the Blues but that was his only point over the past six outings and only his second goal over his final 18 games in St. Louis. He has 13 goals, 30 points and a minus-10 rating for the season. (RapidDraft.com)

2/19/2011 3:14:00 AM
Description: The St. Louis Blues have traded defenseman Erik Johnson, forward Jay McClement, and a conditional first-round pick to the Colorado Avalanche for forward Chris Stewart, defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk, and a conditional second-round pick. TSN
Insight: Stewart has a solid 30 points (13g-17a) in 36 games this season, but he has struggled immensely recently with just two goals in his last 18 games along with being a healthy scratch. He will no doubt be looking for a new start with the Blues. Shattenkirk has been notoriously streaky in his rookie season, but he is cold right now with no points in his last eight games. Both of the new Blues are expected to be in the lineup for Saturday's game against Anaheim.

2/13/2011 12:48:00 PM
Description: Chris Stewart was a healthy scratch for Saturday's game against Nashville. Denver Post
Insight: Since returning to the lineup from a broken hand, Stewart has just one goal, three assists, and a (-9) in 11 games. He is hardly the only reason that the Avs have now lost seven games in a row, but you should consider moving the slumping winger to your bench until he and his teammates break out of their funk.

1/13/2011 3:58:00 PM
Description: Chris Stewart is expected to return to the Avalanche's lineup on Friday against Minnesota. Denver Post
Insight: Stewart has been out of the Avs' lineup since late November with a broken hand. At the time, he led the Avs with 11 goals, so he should provide a major boost for his linemates. Get him back in your lineup.

1/6/2011 3:28:00 PM
Description: On Thursday, Chris Stewart participated in skating and shooting drills for the first time since breaking his hand in late November. Denver Post
Insight: Stewart won't be returning to the Avs' lineup on Thursday, nor would Avs coach Joe Sacco offer a timetable for his return. Expect him to return in another week or two, given the original timetable of four to six weeks.

11/29/2010 8:04:00 PM
Description: Chris Stewart will miss the next four to six weeks, as he needs surgery on his broken left hand. Denver Post
Insight: Stewart broke his hand during a fight with Minnesota forward Kyle Brodziak on Saturday. The young Avs will have a tough time replacing his 11 goals and 25 points this season, as he could miss anywhere between 12 to 17 games.

11/28/2010 3:37:00 AM
Description: Chris Stewart broke his hand in a second-period fight with Kyle Brodziak during Saturday's Avalanche/Wild game. TSN
Insight: Stewart recorded one assist before he was forced to leave the game. He has improved even more on his pace from last season (64 points in 77 games). His fantasy owners will have a tough time making up for his offense while he is sidelined, as he had scored 25 points (11g-14a) in 23 games.

11/16/2010 9:00:00 AM
Description: Stewart picked up two assists on Monday against the Blues.
Insight: Stewart has points in three of his last four games with a goal and three assists over that span. He is off to a monster start to the season with ten goals and ten assists in 17 games this year. (RapidDraft.com)

11/10/2010 11:00:00 AM
Description: Stewart found the net for the first time in three games Tuesday night. His 10th goal of the season tied him for second in the league.
Insight: The point was the 100th of Stewart's career and his fifth power play goal of the season. That's good for second in the league. (RapidDraft.com)

10/31/2010 12:11:00 AM
Description: Chris Stewart scored a goal and an assist Saturday night to run his point streak to eight games. Yahoo! Sports
Insight: Stewart has been phenomenal to start the season collecting 16 points in his first 11 games. He now has 8 goals and 6 assists for 14 points during his eight-game point streak

10/29/2010 12:10:00 AM
Description: Chris Stewart scored 3 goals in Colorado's wild 6-5 win over the Flames Thursday night. Yahoo Sports
Insight: It's time for the other Stewart brother to get a hat trick, as Chris Stewart scored three for the Avs in a crazy 6-5 shootout. Stewart now has 8 goals and 14 points in 10 games so far this season, good for second in the NHL right now behind Stephen Stamkos and his ridiculous 18 points.
