Most Valuable Player: Ottis Anderson, New York Giants
Scott Norwood's career went down in imfamy after missing the potential game-winning field goal wide right.
If you spoke to most New York Giant fans, the game MVP could very well have gone to Buffalo PK Scott Norwood, who missed what would have been a game-winning 47-yard field goal with seconds left on the clock.

Who would know, that while the Bills would dominate Super Bowl appearances in the 90's, they would never be able to get over the jinx established in this game.

The Giants ran the ball down the throat of the Bills, recording a record 40:33 in time possession. Trailing 12-10 at halftime, the Giants mounted a 14-play, 75-yard drive, consuming 9:29 of the periodbefore Ottis Anderson rumbled into the end zone from one yard out.

Buffalo regained the lead in the first eight seconds of the fourth quarter on a 31-yard run by Thurman Thomas, but Matt Bahr gave the Giants the final margin of victory by nailing a 21-yard FG midway through the period.

Jeff Hostetler completed 20-of-32 passes for 222 yards and one touchdown, while Anderson ran for 102 yards on 21 carries and one touchdown to earn MVP honors. Thomas was a force for the Bills, compiling 190 yards from scrimmage, rushing 15 times for 135 yards and another 55 receiving yards on five receptions.
