Notes: 2010: Selected by Utah in 1st round (9th overall) of the NBA Draft.
An immediate contributor for Butler from day one, claiming the 2009 Horizon League Newcomer of the Year award as a freshman, while being tabbed an All-Horizon League First Team member...Surprisingly 2010 was even more impressive as the 20-year-old led the Bulldogs to the NCAA Tournament title game, where Butler fell to Duke in a hard fought battle...In his sophomore season, Hayward was named the Horizon League Player of the Year, and also claimed the NCAA Tournament West Regional MVP, while also being named to the 2010 NCAA All-Tournament Team...Not only did the Indiana native post an outstanding 84 percent effort from the foul line, but he also connected on 46.4 percent of
his field goal attempts and is a dangerous marksman from long range...Gets a good portion of his points from the charity stripe because of his ability to drive the lane...He is especially impressive on the offensive glass...Great ball handler his overall basketball IQ is impressive...Does not play with a tough demeanor and could struggle against the more physical defenders at the next level...Solid defensively, but a lack of lateral speed will hurt him in the NBA. |
