Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) - Mario Chalmers tied a franchise record by
connecting on ten 3-pointers en route to a career-high 34 points as the Miami
Heat hammered the Sacramento Kings, 128-99, on Saturday.
Chalmers shot 10-for-13 from beyond the arc to tie Brian Shaw's mark set on
April 8, 1993.
LeBron James added 20 points, seven assists and five rebounds for Miami, which
shot 17-for-37 from three-point range as they snapped a two-game slide.
"Sometimes when a team gets into a zone there's nothing you can do about it,"
Kings coach Keith Smart said.
Isaiah Thomas finished with a career-best 34 points and five assists for the
Kings, who have lost four straight.
DeMarcus Cousins contributed 11 points, eight boards and four assists in
defeat.
Miami controlled the game from the start, opening the first quarter with a
14-2 run capped by consecutive 3-pointers by Chalmers.
The Kings answered with a 10-6 push to cut their deficit to single digits, but
the Heat scored eight of the final 13 points to carry a 28-17 advantage into
the second quarter.
Sacramento started the second with a 7-4 trek to get back within 32-24 before
an 8-2 spurt by Miami put the Heat on top, 40-26.
The Kings never got closer than 12 points for the rest of the game and took a
66-44 deficit into the break.
Miami led by at least 18 points and by as many as 38 during the third quarter
to take a more than comfortable 103-72 cushion into the fourth, where Chalmers
remained the lone Miami starter in the game and went 2-for-2 from three-point
range in the frame to tie the franchise mark.
"I knew what the record was and I just wanted to go in there and try and beat
the record," said Chalmers.

Miami has won the last eight meetings between the teams, including four
straight at Sacramento ... The Heat shot 56.3 percent from the floor in the
game and improved to 14-1 this season when shooting at least 50 percent from
the field ... Miami improved to 8-8 on the road, while Sacramento fell to
10-10 at home this season ... Thomas Robinson recorded a double-double with 10
points and 10 rebounds off the bench for the Kings.
