Description: Don't let Twins starter Kevin Correia's bad record get in the way of noticing how well he's been pitching in June.
Insight: Hes, he already has an AL leading eight losses this season (4-8, 5.02 ERA, 1.458 WHIP), but over his last three starts he's 2-1 with a 1.00 ERA and 1.111 WHIP.

6/10/2014 10:23:00 PM
Description: Twins starter Kevin Correia was dealing in Tuesday's win over Toronto.
Insight: He held a stacked Blue Jays lineup to just six hits over six scoreless innings. Even after throwing all zeros Tuesday, Correia still has an ERA well over five. Don't expect him to be a fantasy factor any time soon.

4/2/2014 7:51:00 PM
Description: Minnesota starter Kevin Correia allowed three runs (two earned) in six innings Wednesday against the White Sox.
Insight: Correia gave up five hits, walked one and struck out five in the no decision. The right-hander has a career 3.80 ERA in April but a 4.45 ERA or higher in every month from May-August, so don't get too excited about anything the Correia does this month.

8/11/2013 5:59:00 PM
Description: Minnesota starter Kevin Correia fired seven scoreless frames Sunday in a victory over the White Sox.
Insight: Correia got hammered for six runs in two innings in his previous start so Sunday's effort represents a dramatic improvement for the righthander. Correia's seven strikeouts matched a season-high.

5/4/2013 7:59:00 PM
Description: Twins starter Kevin Correia failed to go at least seven innings for the first time this season Saturday against the Indians.
Insight: Correia brought a 3-1 record and a 2.23 ERA into the game but gave up six hits and four runs in five innings. Correia also had tremendous Aprils in 2011 and 2012, but struggled the rest of those seasons.

Hot4/28/2013 7:43:00 PM
Description: Twins starter Kevin Correia fired eight shutout innings Sunday against the Rangers to improve to 3-1.
Insight: Correia has thrown at least seven innings in all five of his starts this season and has a 2.23 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP. Correia has done this the last three Aprils as well only to struggle the rest of the year, so don't go out of your way to acquire him.

4/23/2013 8:58:00 PM
Description: Twins starter Kevin Correia fired seven innings, allowed five hits and two runs, walked one and struck out five in a win over Miami Tuesday afternoon.
Insight: Correia has been fantastic over four starts this year, throwing at least seven innings in all of them and carrying a 2.86 ERA and 1.13 WHIP. Correia has done this the last three Aprils as well, only to struggle the rest of the year, so don't go out of your way to acquire him.

12/13/2012 4:26:00 PM
Description: Righthander Kevin Correia has signed a two-year, $10 million contract with the Minnesota Twins.
Insight: Correia was his typical up and down self for the Pirates in 2012, finishing the year with a 12-11 record and a 4.21 ERA. Moving from the NL to the AL can sometimes be a rude awakening for starting pitchers, though Target Field is usually considered to be one of the more pitcher-friendly venues in the major leagues.

7/26/2012 7:53:00 PM
Description: Pittsburgh righthander Kevin Correia has lost his place in the Pirates' starting rotation.
Insight: Correia (8-6, 4.24 ERA) appears to be the odd man out now that Pittsburgh has traded for Wandy Rodriguez (7-9, 3.79). He'll work mostly as a long reliever for now but if one of Pittsburgh's starters gets hurt, Correia would likely return to the rotation.

6/19/2012 10:37:00 PM
Description: Pirates starter Kevin Correia shut out Minnesota in 5 1/3 innings Tuesday to improve to 3-6.
Insight: Correia had lost six of his last seven decisions. He should only be owned in deep NL-only leagues.

4/21/2012 4:20:00 PM
Description: Pirates SP Kevin Correia has been scratched from his scheduled Saturday start with a strained left oblique.
Insight: Correia had been off to a very good start, 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA and 0.833 WHIP. A.J. Burnett will come off the disabled list early and make the start against St. Louis.

4/18/2012 3:41:00 PM
Description: Kevin Correia is 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA in his first two starts this season.
Insight: Don't get too excited about Correia's start. He was 8-4 with a 3.40 ERA on June 1 last season before finishing with a 12-11 record and a 4.79 ERA. He doesn't strike many batters out either so he really only has value in deep NL-only leagues.

4/18/2011 9:09:00 PM
Description: Pirates SP Kevin Correia allowed 3 runs (2 earned) in a complete game victory over the Reds. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2, while striking out 5.
Insight: Correia has been excellent in 4 of his 5 starts this season and should be used in all NL-only league formats. Despite his 3-1 record, however, he is not really worth using in mixed leagues because he just does not strike out enough batters.

12/7/2010 11:05:00 AM
Description: ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick reports the Pirates have signed Correia to a two-year, $8 million deal, pending a physical.

Insight: Correia was 10-10 with a 5.40 ERA in 26 starts for the Padres in 2010; part of his struggles can be attributed to the stress from the death of his brother.

8/27/2010 8:05:00 AM
Description: Correia allowed nine runs on nine hits over 3.1 innings on Thursday against Arizona. He walked two and struck out four.
Insight: Correia lost his second straight start as he fell to 10-9 with a 5.29 ERA. (SportsBuff.com)

8/26/2010 8:35:00 PM
Description: Kevin Correia allowed nine runs in 3 1/3 innings tonight in a home start against Arizona.
Insight: This will likely be the last straw for Correia owners in anything other than NL-Only leagues. He has had some good starts in the second half but not nearly enough of them.

8/22/2010 4:24:00 AM
Description: Correia allowed five runs on seven hits over 4.1 innings on Saturday against the Brewers. He walked four and struck out three.

8/17/2010 6:26:00 AM
Description: Kevin Correia threw six shutout innings in a win over the Cubs last night.
Insight: He gas been inconsistent this year but owners in deep leagues shouldn't give up on him. He plays for a division leader and was very solid last season.
