Description: Cardinals starter Lance Lynn allowed nine hits and seven runs (six earned) in just two innings of work Saturday at Los Angeles.
Insight: Go figure. Lynn held the Rockies to three hits in eight shutout innings at Coors Field on Monday, but the Dodgers roughed him up five days later. Lynn will take an 8-6 record, a 3.38 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP into his next start Friday at home against the Marlins.

Description: St. Louis right-hander Lance Lynn went into Coors Field and held the Rockies to three hits over eight scoreless innings (7 K, 0 BB).
Insight: Colorado is hitting .325 with an .899 OPS at Coors Field this season, so that's quite an impressive feat by Lynn, who has allowed just 10 hits and two runs in his last 22 innings. Lynn has proven to be a first-half pitcher in his career, going 31-14 with a 3.49 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP prior to the All-Star break and 11-9 with a 3.95 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP after it.
6/13/2014 10:24:00 PM
Description: St. Louis right-hander Lance Lynn took a perfect game into the sixth inning Friday against Washington.
Insight: Lynn allowed just two hits over eight shutout innings. That lowers his season ERA to 3.16. Lynn's next start is scheduled for Wednesday against New York.

Description: Cardinals starter Lance Lynn is ready for Friday's start after hurting his knee covering first in last Sunday's game.
Insight: It was called a hyperextension, but he's been checked out and given the ok to start. Lynn is 6-3 with a 3.48 ERA and 1.37 WHIP.
Hot5/28/2014 9:28:00 AM
Description: Cardinals starter Lance Lynn fired his first career complete game and shutout Tuesday against the Yankees.

Description: Cardinals starter Lance Lynn improved to 4-0 with a win over the Nationals on Saturday.
Insight: Lynn gave up five hits and three walks in 5 2/3 innings Saturday but he gave up just one run. He still has just one quality start this season. The right-hander was been provided with at least 5.1 runs per start in each of his first three seasons and 5.5 in four starts this year.
4/14/2014 11:00:00 PM
Description: Cardinals starter Lance Lynn dominated Milwaukee over seven scoreless innings Monday.

10/25/2013 3:40:00 PM
Description: Cardinals manager Mike Matheny will start Lance Lynn in Game 4 of the World Series Sunday.
Insight: If the team was facing a 3-0 hole Matheny liked would have used Adam Wainwright on short rest, but since it won Game 2 he'll go with Lynn. After allowing five runs in 4 1/3 innings in Game 2 of the NLDS versus Pittsburgh, Lynn started Game 4 of the NLCS against the Dodgers and allowed two runs over 5 1/3 innings. Meanwhile, rookie Shelby Miller has thrown a total of 4 1/3 innings this postseason.
10/12/2013 3:40:00 PM
Description: Cardinals manager Mike Matheny will stick with Lance Lynn to start Game 4 of the NLCS.
Insight: Lynn gave up five runs over 4 1/3 innings in his only start of the NLDS, but that won't deter Matheny from using Lynn over Shelby Miller. Miller will remain in the bullpen.
9/28/2013 9:52:00 AM
Description: Cardinals starter Lance Lynn made his case why he should be in the postseason rotation with six scoreless innings, nine strikeouts and zero walks Friday in a win over the Cubs.
Insight: Lynn's 2013 season has followed a near-identical pattern to last year -- he started off strong, winning a bunch of games early, struggled in July and August and had a dynamite September. After going 2-1 with a 2.12 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 29 2/3 innings this month, Lynn will finish 15-10 with a 3.97 ERA and 198 Ks in 201 2/3 frames. St. Louis has plenty of strong choices to fill its rotation for the playoffs after Adam Wainwright, including Lynn, Michael Wacha, Shelby Miller and Joe Kelly.
9/21/2013 10:56:00 PM
Description: Cardinals starter Lance Lynn threw his third straight quality start Saturday against the Brewers and picked up his first win since Aug. 4.
Insight: Lynn gave up one run and struck out seven over 6 1/3 innings Saturday and has allowed three earned runs in 18 1/3 innings over his last three starts. Lynn went 0-5 with a 6.88 ERA from Aug. 9 to Sept. 5 before his string of three straight quality turns.

Description: Cardinals starter Lance Lynn turned in his best start in five weeks Wednesday against the Brewers, throwing six innings, striking out 10 and allowing one (unearned) run.
Insight: Lynn came in 0-5 with a 6.88 ERA over his previous six starts and 3-9 with a 5.40 ERA since starting out 10-1 with a 3.42. He'll attempt to duplicate September 2012, in which he went 5-2 with a 2.76 ERA after struggling following the All-Star break and getting demoted the bullpen for a few weeks.
Cold8/31/2013 10:00:00 PM
Description: Cardinals starter Lance Lynn has to be happy to see August go. He went 1-4 with a 5.84 ERA and a 1.57 WHIP during the month.
Insight: Lynn was 10-1 with a 3.42 ERA at one point, but he has gone 3-8 with a 5.29 ERA over his last 13 starts and now has a 4.29 ERA on the year. Lynn had a similar issue last season, starting off 10-2 with a 2.42 ERA and then going 3-3 with a 5.89 ERA over his next 12 starts before being demoted to the bullpen. We'll see if the Cardinals plan to keep rolling him out this year.
8/4/2013 6:26:00 PM
Description: St. Louis righthander Lance Lynn recorded 11 strikeouts Sunday in a win over Cincinnati.
Insight: The 11 K's were a season-high. He's 3-0 versus the Reds this season. Lynn's next start is Friday against the Cubs.
Cold7/25/2013 9:58:00 PM
Description: Cardinals starter Lance Lynn gave up one earned run on five hits over seven innings Thursday against the Phillies to improve to 12-5.
Insight: Lynn walked four and was facing a Phillies lineup without Ryan Howard and Domonic Brown, so this isn't exactly an outing that inspires supreme confidence after Lynn posted a 6.32 ERA over his last eight starts.
Cold7/14/2013 10:02:00 AM
Description: Cardinals starter Lance Lynn had an ugly outing Saturday against the Cubs, allowing 10 hits and five earned runs in 4 1/3 innings.
Insight: Just two of Lynn's last seven starts were quality. The right-hander has gone 3-3 with a 6.00 ERA in that span and watched his ERA rise from 2.76 to 3.92.
7/7/2013 8:48:00 PM
Description: Cardinals starter Lance Lynn fired seven innings, allowed two runs on seven hits and struck out seven in a win over the Marlins Sunday.
Insight: Lynn (11-3, 3.67 ERA) is tied with teammate Adam Wainwright with 11 wins, which ranks second in the NL. The right-hander has gone 29-10 with a 3.74 ERA and a 9.13 K/9 in 288 2/3 innings over the last two seasons.
6/15/2013 8:42:00 PM
Description: Cardinals starter Lance Lynn gave up seven runs on nine hits in five innings Saturday against the Marlins, but still picked up his ninth win.
Insight: That's the benefit of pitching for St. Louis. Lynn is 9-1 with a 3.56 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP, his second straight strong first half. After getting in better shape this offseason, Lynn should hold up better in the second half this year than he did in 2012.
