Description: Washington right-hander Ross Ohlendorf is questionable for Friday's game against Milwaukee with stiffness in his right arm.
Insight: Ohlendorf has only made 10 appearances this season (two starts) and has pitched well with a 1.85 ERA and 1.03 WHIP, but doesn't have a role that fantasy owners can use.

6/13/2013 9:43:00 AM
Description: Washington righty Ross Ohlendorf threw a surprising quality start Wednesday at Colorado.
Insight: Ohlendorf was called up to make a spot start and allowed two hits and one runs over six innings against the Rockies' explosive offense. He's not expected to stick around in the rotation, however.

6/6/2013 8:14:00 PM
Description: Thursday's game between the Nationals and Mets was rained out, meaning the team won't need to call up Ross Ohlendorf to start Saturday. The Nats will just push back Gio Gonzalez to Friday and Nate Karns to Saturday.
Insight: It's a tough break for Ohlendorf, but not something that really matters to fantasy owners.

6/5/2013 5:25:00 PM
Description: The Nationals are expected to call up Ross Ohlendorf to replace Stephen Strasburg (lat) in the rotation, according to the Washington Times.
Insight: Strasburg is only expected to miss two more starts at the most and Ohlendorf has a career 5.10 ERA in 441 1/3 innings, so fantasy owners can ignore the move.

6/13/2012 8:37:00 PM
Description: Padres right-hander Ross Ohlendorf will start Saturday at Oakland as Andrew Cashner gets stretched out in the minors.
Insight: Ohlendorf went 12-21 with a solid 3.98 ERA in 50 starts with Pittsburgh in 2009-10, so he might have some value in San Diego if he was staying in the rotation. However, Cashner will come back soon and Ohlendorf will be back in the bullpen. He doesn't even make for a good streaming option Saturday, as San Diego likely won't let him throw many innings.

6/10/2012 4:05:00 PM
Description: Ross Ohlendorf is expected to move into the Padres' starting rotation while Andrew Cashner is training to become a starter in the minor leagues.
Insight: Ohlendorf has 64 big league starts on his resume so he seems like the logical choice to take the vacant spot in San Diego's rotation. In two appearances with the Padres so far this season, the former Pirate is 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA.

6/4/2012 9:22:00 PM
Description: Just two days after opting out of his minor league deal with the Red Sox, Ross Ohlendorf has agreed to a one-year contract with the Padres.
Insight: Ohlendorf was 4-3 with a 4.61 ERA in 10 starts for Triple-A Pawtucket before opting out of his deal on Saturday. A once promising young starter, Ohlendorf went 1-3 with an 8.15 ERA in his last stint in the majors in 2011 as a member of the Pirates.

3/25/2011 5:24:00 AM
Description: Ross Ohlendorf allowed six runs last night and fell to 0-4 in spring training.
Insight: He only won one game last season and even though we expect him to be significantly better this year, we expect him to win less than 10. He shouldn't be on mixed league rosters and should rarely be active in NL-Only leagues.

Description: Despite a 1-11 record in 2010, Pirates SP Ross Ohlendorf won his arbitration case, getting a bump from $439,00 to just over $2 million. SOURCE: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Insight: Ohlendorf improved his K/9 rate and his HR/9, but his Hits/9 and BB/9 both went up. He certainly desevred better than a 1-11 record, but wins are tough to come by in Pittsburgh. If he stays healthy in 2011, and gets his walk rate back down, he is a late-round flier in NL-only leagues.

Insight: Being out for the rest of the season, he has no fantasy value. If he performs well out of the gate next season, he could be a good add in deeper NL-only leagues, but he is still a huge risk.
