Cabrera, Fister lead Tigers over Astros
Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Miguel Cabrera went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and Doug Fister was effective over seven innings to lead the Detroit Tigers past the lowly Houston Astros, 6-2, in the middle test of a three-game series at Comerica Park.
Fister (5-1) limited the light-hitting Astros to two runs on five hits, and the Tigers knocked out his counterpart, Lucas Harrell, in the sixth inning.
Victor Martinez went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Detroit, which had lost four of five games before taking the first two in this series.
Harrell (3-4) started strong, but wound up allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks over five-plus innings as the Astros dropped their sixth straight game and fell to 0-6 this season against the Tigers.
