NOTES:
The PGA Tour travels to Malaysia this week for the CIMB Classic at The Mines Resort & Golf Club. Four of the top 25 players in the world are competing this week - Tiger Woods (2), Jason Dufner (9), Nick Watney (22) and defending champion Bo Van Pelt (23).

Woods is playing in his first official event since the Ryder Cup. He has finished in the top 10 in his last three tournaments. Woods is playing in Malaysia for the first time since 1999. Dufner finished second to Van Pelt last week at the ISPS Handa Perth International on the European Tour.

The 2010 tournament was the first PGA Tour-sanctioned event to be held in Southeast Asia. There are only 48 players in the field with no cut. They are competing for a $6.1 million prize purse, with the winner receiving $1.3 million.

The tournament is being played at The Mines Resort & Golf Club, which was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and opened in 1994. The course hosted the World Cup of Golf in 1999, won by Woods and Mark O'Meara of the United States. It also staged the Malaysian Open in 2003, won by Arjun Atwal.

Last year, Van Pelt closed with an impressive 7-under 64 and cruised to a six- stroke victory over Jeff Overton. It was Van Pelt's second career victory and first since the 2009 U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee, and he did it by going bogey-free over the tournament's last 34 holes to finish at a tournament-record 23-under 261. Danny Chia was the top Malaysian last year, as he tied for 13th.

In 2010, Crane birdied the final hole to win by one stroke over Brian Davis. Crane finished at 18-under-par 266, as he fired four rounds in the 60s and held at least a share of the lead after 36, 54, and 72 holes.

Next week, the top players in the world head to China for the WGC-HSBC Champions, where Martin Kaymer will defend his title.
