Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - If Joe Mauer wasn't the easiest position to pick, then Albert Pujols at first base was. Sure there are a lot more good first basemen than catchers, but Pujols stands head and shoulders above the rest. More runs, home runs, stolen bases, better batting average, slugging percentage and OPS earned Pujols the position at the top of the charts. But then that's where you expected him to be when you drafted him No.2 overall behind Florida shortstop Hanley Ramirez. Prince Fielder put on a dazzling display in 2009, but it's tough to beat "Superman." The Milwaukee first baseman couldn't equal his 2007 totals in runs and home runs, but 103 and 46 aren't exactly a weakness. He did have career highs in hits (177), RBIs (141), walks (110), batting average (.299) and OPS (1.014). Howard has been the model of consistency for the past four years. No less than 94 runs, 45 HRs and 136 RBIs. His homer and RBI totals for the last four seasons are better than Albert's. Pujols edges Howard out for the title because of his much better averages and his double-digit stolen bases. The surprise name in the top-10 is also a contender for "Best Bargain of the Year" - the Angels' Kendry Morales. He was an unknown to most, but inside the organization they must have known something because they didn't make much of an effort for Mark Teixeira's services when he became a free agent, not that anyone could outbid the Yankees anyway. Home run hitting was the most unexpected feature of his game. He could always hit (career .332 batting average in the minor leagues), but his major league AB-HR ratio dropped from 31-1 to 16-1. Not bad for a player who had an ADP of 297 - meaning he was either a 25th-round selection or a free agent.
