Week 13 Player Fantasy Rankings - Kickers

By Steve Schwarz, Fantasy Sports Editor

Philadelphia, PA ( - In my fantasy league, okay in one of my five fantasy leagues, the difference between the No. 1 overall place kicker, Stephen Gostkowski and the 14th-best kicker is 24 points. Having played 11 games, the difference between the best and the worst is 2.18 points-per-game.

That may not seem like a lot. In fact it isn't, unless you lose a matchup by one point.

As always, we prefer kickers playing under a dome or in a warm weather site to protect them from the bad elements (read: rain, snow and particular wind). Early weather forecasts show a chance for poor weather in the middle of the country.

We also like it when our kicker gets a lot of television time that comes from being on the field as often as possible.

The kicker who most fits those criteria in Week 13 is San Diego place kicker Nick Novak. It's always sunny in southern California, at least that's what they tell me. Philip Rivers has the Chargers' offense playing at a high level and the Bengals defense has faded a bit with the loss of a number of defensive stoppers.

Novak has successfully kicked at least two field goals in his last three games and he'll top our charts this weekend.

Behind him the remainder of the top-five is: Steven Hauschka, Stephen Gostkowski, David Akers and Mason Crosby.
