Week 12 Player Fantasy Rankings - Tight Ends

By Jesse Pantuosco, Fantasy Sports Writer

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Well, it was fun while it lasted. Give Jordan Cameron credit though. The man threw one heck of a coming out party.

Cameron's season opened with a flourish. In his first four games, the Cleveland Browns tight end exploded for 360 yards and five scores.

Turns out, the former USC Trojan would have been wise to pace himself. Over the last two games, he's produced just seven catches for 33 yards. That's a grand total of two fantasy points. He had 92 in the first eight weeks of the season.

Maybe Cameron's disappointing second half was inevitable. When the season started, Cameron was the team's go-to receiver. But when Josh Gordon returned from suspension, Cameron watched his targets drop by almost a third (10.0 to 7.25 per game).

But what fantasy owners didn't plan for was Jason Campbell. While Brian Hoyer (torn ACL) and Brandon Weeden (benched for poor play) looked to Cameron early and often, Campbell has forgotten he even exists. In three games, Campbell has targeted him just 16 times. Gordon, Davone Bess and Greg Little have all seen at least 18 targets over that span.

The slump could end in Week 12, but I wouldn't count on it. Cleveland's next opponent, the Pittsburgh Steelers, has allowed just two touchdowns to opposing tight ends this season. That's why you'll see Cameron at No. 13 in this week's rankings after being a top-five tight end for much of the season.
