NCAA Game Summary - Air Force at Colorado State

Fort Collins, CO (Sports Network) - Tim Jefferson threw for 221 yards and
three touchdowns as the Air Force Falcons downed the Colorado State Rams 45-21
in Mountain West Conference action at Hughes Stadium.
Jefferson was 9-of-12 through the air for the Falcons (7-5, 3-4 MWC), who
became bowl eligible with the win. Zack Kauth caught just three balls, but all
of them went for touchdowns, as he amassed 123 receiving yards. Asher Clark
ran for 111 yards on 12 carries and scored one touchdown.
Chris Nwoke ran for a career-high 269 yards for the Rams (3-8, 1-5) and scored
two touchdowns. Garrett Grayson was 8-of-13 through the air for 125 yards and
a score, but the Rams lost their seventh straight contest.
The Rams opened the scoring when Grayson hit Byron Steele with a four-yard
touchdown pass with 6:26 left in the first quarter.
Air Force tied the game six seconds into the second quarter when Tim Jefferson
hit Kauth with a 33-yard touchdown throw.
The two hooked up again on a 40-yard connection at the 11:10 mark before
Parker Herrington's 22-yard field goal gave Air Force a 17-7 lead with 6:12
left until halftime.
Jefferson and Kauth hooked up again, this time on a 50-yard connection, with
3:49 left in the first half.
Cody Getz added a 12-yard TD run at the 2:22 mark to give Air Force a 31-7
halftime lead.
Nwoke's 62-yard burst with 6:18 left in the third quarter made it a 31-14
game, but Air Force responded when Mike DeWitt scored from three yards out at
the 2:27 mark.
Clark extended the Falcons' lead to 45-14 when he scored from three yards out
at the 10:47 mark of the fourth quarter before Nwoke scored his second
touchdown of the game from two yards out to make it a 45-21 game with 5:49
left.
Air Force piled up 565 yards in total offense, 355 on the ground. The Falcons
averaged 9.3 yards per offensive snap.
