Athens, OH (Sports Network) - Boo Jackson threw for 161 yards and a touchdown and ran for two more scores to lead the Ohio University Bobcats in a 38-10 rout of the Akron Zips in a Mid-American Conference bout at Peden Stadium.

Jackson completed 14-of-21 passes to pace Ohio University (4-3, 3-1 MAC) in the win, while Phil Bates led the Bobcat ground attack with 84 yards and a score on just nine totes. Terrence McCrae hauled in six passes for 107 yards to go with a pair of touchdowns as well in the victory.

Akron signal-caller Patrick Nicely had a miserable day under center for the Zips (0-7, 0-3), completing just 16-of-29 passes for 159 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions. Nate Burney led an Akron ground game which amassed just 72 total yards with 32 yards on 12 carries, while Antoine Russell led the receiving corps with three catches for 54 yards.

The first quarter was all Bobcats in this one, as Ohio scored 17 unanswered points, beginning with a one-yard Jackson plunge. Riley Dunlop then found McCrae midway through the stanza with a 35-yard scoring toss, and Matt Weller closed out the period with a 42-yard field goal.

Jackson made it a 24-0 game early in the second period with a seven-yard pass to McCrae.

The Zips finally got on the board with under a minute to go in the half, as Igor Iveljic connected on a 39-yard field goal attempt.

A one-yard run from Jackson late in the third period gave the Bobcats a 31-3 advantage, while a 33-yard scamper by Bates early in the fourth quarter extended the Ohio University lead to 38-3.

The Zips added a three-yard toss from Matt Rogers to Austin Bailey late in the frame to represent the final score of the contest.

The Zips gained just 278 total yards during the meeting, compared to 496 yards by the Bobcats.
