Huntington, WV (Sports Network) - Darius Marshall carried the ball 21 times
for 186 yards and a score to lead the Marshall Thundering Herd to a 17-10 win
over the Bowling Green Falcons in a non-conference clash at Joan C. Edwards
Brian Anderson orchestrated Marshall's (2-1) offense, completing 11-of-21 pass
attempts for 100 yards and a score.
The Falcons (1-2) were paced by quarterback Tyler Sheehan who completed 43-
of-62 pass attempts for 383 yards and a touchdown. Freddie Barnes was
Sheehan's favorite target, hauling in 17 balls for 109 yards, while Chris
Wright made five catches for 104 yards and a touchdown.
After a scoreless first quarter, Bowling Green took the first lead of the game
on a 50-yard touchdown strike from Sheehan to Wright to give the Falcons a 7-0
Marshall was able to tie the game late in the third quarter when Anderson
hooked up with Antavious Wilson from 11 yards out to make it a 7-7 game.
The Thundering Herd took a 14-7 lead early in the fourth quarter on an 80-
yard touchdown run by Marshall.
Marshall extended its lead minutes later when Craig Ratanamorn drilled a 31-
yard field goal to make it a 17-7 game.
The Falcons added a 30-yard field goal by Jerry Phillips late in the fourth
quarter, but it would not be enough as Marshall managed to hold on for the

advantage in rushing yards in the win.
