"We had a lot of missed opportunities, and we had our chances to make plays," said UCF head coach George O'Leary. "I felt we did not do a good job of taking advantage of the opportunities we were given. It was definitely frustrating seeing the offensive side of the ball come up short, and not being able to put points up on the board."

The Knights, though, countered with a nine-play, 80-yard drive to close it to 10 points. Ross hauled in an eight-yard TD catch to close out the drive.

With 1:56 left in the third, Bosher nailed a 46-yard field goal to balloon the difference to 20-7.

The Knights were stopped on the ensuing drive and Miami took over at its own 39 on a drive that bridged the final two frames. About five minutes into the fourth, Berry ran in a three-yard score to give the Hurricanes a 20-point cushion.
