Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Lorenzo McCloud led four Tigers in double figures with a game-high 18 points as the Pacific Tigers defeated the Saint Mary's Gaels 76-66, in the semifinal round of the DirectTV Classic at the Anaheim Convention Center.
McCloud was 5-of-10 shooting from the floor, including 8-of-9 free throws, in the Pacific (3-2) victory. Sama Taku scored 11 points to go along with six boards. Ross Rivera and Khalil Kelley added 14 and 12 points, respectively.
The Gaels (4-1) were paced by Beau Levesque, who scored a game-high 18 points. Matthew Dellavedova contributed 16 points and Stephen Holt contributed 12 points on 4-of-12 shooting from the field in the team's first loss of the season.
Pacific shot 15-of-27 from the floor in the first half to take a 32-29 lead into the break. Saint Mary's fell behind after it converted only 10-of-23 of its field attempts in the opening 20 minutes.
The Tigers continued their solid play in the second half, hitting 50.0 percent of their shots from the field, while limiting the Gaels to 40.6 percent shooting.
Pacific held a 34-24 edge in the rebounding battle and scored 18 points off of turnovers to shoot past the Gaels.
The Tigers, who came into the tournament with a 1-2 record, will advance to the championship game to face California.
