NCAA Game Summary - UC Riverside at USC

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Eric Wise and Jio Fontan led the way with 14 points each as the USC Trojans downed the UC Riverside Highlanders, 70-26, in an intrastate showdown at the Galen Center.
For the Trojans (4-6), Dewayne Dedmon and Omar Oraby each pulled down eight rebounds.
Chris Harriel and Chris Patton led the Highlanders (2-8) with six points each.
USC was red hot to start the game as the Trojans knocked down 71.4 percent of their field goal attempts in the first half, taking a 39-12 lead into the break. Riverside struggled mightily early on, shooting just 17.2 percent from field and missing all seven of its 3-point attempts before halftime.
After the break, both teams had trouble finding the basket. The Trojans cooled off to just 37.9 percent from the floor, but were able to connect on 5-of-11 from beyond the 3-point arc. The Highlanders continued their shooting woes in the second half, making 20.7 percent of their field goal attempts, including just 1-of-7 from 3-point distance. UC Riverside missed its first 19 shots of the second half and did not have a field goal until there was just under six minutes left in regulation, as the Trojans cruised to the easy victory, snapping a five-game losing streak.
USC dominated in the paint, outscoring UC Riverside 24-14. The Trojans had 10 blocked shots, including a career-high six by Dedmon. The Highlanders set a school record for fewest points in the shot-clock era.
