NCAA Game Summary - Illinois-Chicago at Milwaukee

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - James Haarsma led all scorers with 18 points as the Milwaukee Panthers took down the Illinois-Chicago Flames 68-55 in the first round of the Horizon League Tournament at U.S. Cellular Arena.
Ryan Allen scored 17 points and swiped five steals for the fourth-ranked Panthers (20-12), while Tony Meier grabbed 11 rebounds and Kaylon Williams dished out six assists.
The ninth-seeded Flames (8-22) were paced by Hayden Humes with 14 points. Gary Talton added 11 points and Darrin Williams netted 10 for UIC.
Milwaukee got out to a commanding 35-14 lead heading into intermission behind 50 percent shooting from the field and seven three-pointers. UIC made just 6- of-27 field goals in the first half and the Panthers led by as many as 28 at one point.
Though the Flames improved their shooting to 42.9 percent after halftime, they would never get closer than 13 points of the lead.
The Panthers' hot shooting from three-point range (11-of-25) was able to help offset their 19 turnovers.
With the win, Milwaukee advances to the second round of the tournament Friday night where it will play fifth-seeded Butler, which defeated Wright State in the first round tonight, 70-52.
