Williamsburg, VA (Sports Network) - Devonta White scored a game-high 22 points as the Georgia State Panthers held off the William & Mary Tribe 64-60 in the Colonial Athletic Association season finale for both teams at Kaplan Arena.
Rashaad Richardson put up 11 points and Eric Buckner added 10 points and nine rebounds for Georgia State (20-10, 11-7 CAA), which heads into next week's conference tournament as the No. 6 seed by winning three of its last four games.
For William & Mary (6-25, 4-14), Quinn McDowell tallied 11 points and nine rebounds. Marcus Thornton and Tim Rusthoven scored 10 points apiece for the Tribe, who have lost three of four.
Georgia State took a comfortable 33-22 lead into halftime by shooting 44.8 percent from the floor in the stanza. William & Mary made just eight field goals in the first half.
The game seemed to be well in hand after the Panthers extended their lead to 15 early in the second half, but the Tribe never gave up, chipping away to find themselves down just three with 52 seconds left after a Matt Rum three- pointer. Georgia State went 4-of-4 from the free-throw line in the final minute however to ice the game.
William & Mary was hindered by 13 turnovers while Georgia State coughed the ball up just six times.
