Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Paris Gulley tallied 19 points as the Milwaukee Panthers slipped by the Fairfield Stags, 67-63, at U.S. Cellular Arena as part of the annual BracketBusters event.
Tony Meier registered 18 points for the hosts and Kaylon Williams contributed with a game-high 10 assists for the Panthers (17-12) as they won their second in a row.
Leading the way for the Stags (16-11) was Rakim Sanders with 21 points and nine rebounds, while Colin Nickerson accounted for 11 points, seven boards and six steals as the squad had a six-game win streak brought to an end.
Milwaukee raced out to a 30-16 advantage at the break as it shot an impressive 52.0 percent from the floor and held the Stags to just 7-of-29 from the field and 0-of-8 behind the three-point line.
In the second half Fairfield fought back with 53.1 percent accuracy from the field, but given plenty of opportunities at the free-throw line, the Panthers still held on for the win.
The Stags finished the day with 18 turnovers and only 4-of-19 shooting on the perimeter.
