Hoffman Estates, IL (Sports Network) - Will Hudson recorded a double-double with 19 points and a game-high 14 rebounds as the Oakland Golden Grizzlies crushed the Southern Jaguars, 105-53, as part of the Chicago Invitational Challenge at Sears Centre Arena.
Keith Benson had a double-double of his own for the Golden Grizzlies (2-3) with 19 points and 13 boards as they snapped a two-game slide. Reggie Hamilton contributed 18 points and seven rebounds, followed by Travis Bader and Drew Valentine with 17 and 11 points, respectively.
The Jaguars (1-6) were paced by Blake Sanford who dropped in 17 points, while Julius Ingram accounted for 11 points in the team's fourth straight setback.
Southern shot just 30 percent from the floor in the first half, including a mere 2-of-7 behind the three-point line in the frame, resulting in a 50-24 deficit at the break.
The second half was more of the same as Oakland made good on 44.7 percent from the field and 17-of-19 at the free-throw line to cruise to the 52-point triumph.
In addition to suffering a mere eight turnovers on the afternoon, the Golden Grizzlies held a remarkable 55-25 advantage on the glass, including grabbing 27 at the offensive end of the floor alone.
