Schnyder advances to Bali final, Hantuchova bounced
Bali, Indonesia (Sports Network) - No. 2 seed Patty Schnyder of Switzerland downed Nadia Petrova in straight sets on Saturday to advance to the final of the $225,000 Commonwealth Bank Tennis Classic, while top-seeded Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia did not make it out of her semifinal.
Austrian teenager Tamira Paszek downed Hantuchova 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 to advance to her second career final. The 17-year-old Paszek also won in 2006 at Portoroz. For Hantuchova it was more late disappointment in Bali, as she lost to American Lindsay Davenport in last year's hardcourt finale here.
Schnyder rolled past the fourth-seeded Russian Petrova 7-5, 6-1, and will be playing for her 11th career title. She also won this year at Bangalore.
The 2008 Bali champion will collect $35,000.
