Ferrer reaches Cincy final

Mason, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Spain's David Ferrer reached the final of the $3 million Western & Southern Open with a straight-set win over France's Julien Benneteau on Saturday.

The sixth-seeded Ferrer beat Benneteau 6-3, 6-2 in 71 minutes on center court at Lindner Family Tennis Center.

Ferrer reached his third final of the season and will be seeking his second title this year against either Roger Federer or Milos Raonic, who will meet in the late semifinal Saturday.

Federer, seeded No. 2, has won the event five times and advanced Friday with a straight-set win over Andy Murray.

Benneteau took home $157,645 as a semifinalist. Sunday's winner at this U.S. Open Series tournament will earn $638,850.
