Moses Mabhida Stadium

Moses Mabhida Stadium

Host City: Durban
Population: 3,064,624
Stadium Capacity: 69,957

(Sports Network) - In addition to hosting one of the World Cup semifinal matches, the Moses Mabhida Stadium will be the site for five group-stage games and a second-round contest, and it is expected to stand out as one of South Africa's best venues.

The stadium, which was built on the site of the old Kings Park Soccer Stadium, holds nearly 70,000 fans and is another of the newly-built grounds for this summer's World Cup.

Located in the heart of the Kings Park Sporting Precinct in Durban, the Moses Mabhida Stadium is just one of the facilities in the area, with restaurants, shops, play areas for children and a walkway that links together the stadium complex and the beach.

The venue also includes an indoor arena, a soccer museum and a sports institute along with a cable car that ascends to a viewing platform located almost 350 feet above the playing field.
