Levante tops Betis to move into top four

Valencia, Spain (Sports Network) - Levante claimed a second straight win on Monday to move into fourth place in La Liga, securing a 3-1 win at home over Real Betis.

Levante jumped out to a 2-0 lead inside 42 minutes after Jose Barkero scored from a free kick and Xavi Torres headed home a cross from Juanfran to give the home side command of the match.

Betis answered back just before the break through Jorge Molina, but Levante hit back early in the second half to regain control.

The goal came on the counter attack when a through ball from Abdelkader Ghezzal put Arouna Kone in behind the defense before the striker tallied his ninth goal of the campaign to bring a three-game unbeaten streak to an end for Betis.
