Hearts, Hibernian finish scoreless in Edinburgh derby

Edinburgh, Scotland (Sports Network) - The Edinburgh derby finished in anticlimactic fashion on Thursday as Hearts and Hibernian played to a 0-0 draw at Tynecastle Stadium.

With Rangers being banished from the Scottish Premier League before the season, the Edinburgh derby instantly received an elevated status as the country's best rivalry match.

But Thursday's encounter left little in the way of excitement as neither side produced a goal.

Hibernian, which was thoroughly out-possessed on the night, improves to 32 points on the season to maintain its fourth-place position.

Hearts, which has lost just one league match since November 3, climbs to 26 points but remains fourth from bottom in Scotland's top flight.
