Benfica signs Salvio to five-year deal

Lisbon, Portugal (Sports Network) - Benfica acquired Argentina winger Eduardo Salvio from Atletico Madrid on Thursday and signed him to a five-year deal.

Salvio, 22, spent time on loan with Benfica in 2010-11, and makes a permanent switch on an undisclosed fee. He started his career in Argentina with Lanus, and joined Atletico in 2010.

He played 19 times for Benfica during his loan, and leaves Atletico with five goals in 44 La Liga matches.

Salvio debuted for Argentina in 2009 and has five caps.
