Milwaukee's Feenstra named MISL Player of Week
Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Milwaukee goalkeeper Marcel Feenstra won two matches over the weekend as the Wave moved into a tie for first in the Major Indoor Soccer League and claimed the Player of the Week award.
Feenstra recorded 17 saves in 21-0 win Friday over the Omaha Vipers, earning the fifth shutout in the history of the Milwaukee Wave. Feenstra also had 20 saves in Sunday's 15-10 win over the Baltimore Blast.
In total, he held opponents scoreless in almost six quarters over the weekend as the Blast did not score until there were just five minutes remaining in the second quarter.
The Chicago Riot beat Baltimore, 11-9, in overtime Friday, and Missouri downed Chicago, 18-12, on Sunday in the week's other matches.
Baltimore and Milwaukee enter the final week of the season tied for first. The Blast hosts Missouri on Sunday, when Milwaukee hosts Omaha. In addition to the top spot, Missouri and Omaha are battling for the third playoff berth.
