Nguyen burns former team to earn MLS Player of the Week

New York, NY (Sports Network) - New England Revolution midfielder Lee Nguyen was voted Major League Soccer's Player of the Week for Week 10 following his two-goal, one-assist performance in the Revolution's 4-1 victory over Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday.

Vancouver waived Nguyen shortly before the start of the season but he responded by scoring the equalizer in the sixth minute against his former side before netting his second goal on a brilliant half-volley in the final 20 minutes.

Nguyen also assisted on Saer Sene's goal in the 24th minute to put the Revs in front 2-1.

The MLS Player of the Week award is selected each week by the North American Soccer Reporters. The group consists of members of online, print, television, radio media. More information can be found at soccerreporters.com.
