Inter's Ranocchia receives two-match ban

Milan, Italy (Sports Network) - Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia has been banned for two games by Serie A after he confronted the fourth official at the end of Saturday's match with Genoa.

Ranocchia also received a fine of $13,000 for using what the league called a "provocative expression" toward the official at the end of the 1-1 draw at the San Siro.

The 24-year-old had already been booked for improper conduct prior to the incident, and will now likely miss league matches against Udinese and Pescara should he fail in any appeal attempt.
