Dortmund's Kehl faces lengthy layoff
Dortmund, Germany (Sports Network) - Borussia Dortmund captain Sebastian Kehl will be sidelined for the next six weeks after twisting his ankle in training on Sunday.
The 33-year-old landed heavily on his right ankle on Sunday and a scan revealed torn ligaments which will keep him out of action until the end of October for last season's Champions League finalists.
Kehl will miss his club's Champions League opener on Wednesday against Napoli and faces a race to be fit for a trip to Arsenal on October 22.
Dortmund are top of the Bundesliga with five wins after their 6-2 rout of Hamburg on Saturday and are the only team in the German league with a perfect record.
