Kiessling signs new Leverkusen deal

Leverkusen, Germany (Sports Network) - Bayer Leverkusen striker Stefan Kiessling has secured his future with the club by signing a new contract that runs until 2017.

Kiessling led the Bundesliga last season with 25 goals while helping Leverkusen secure a third-place finish in the league, and the 29-year-old was the subject of transfer rumors before signing his new deal.

After starting his career with Nurnberg in 2002, Kiessling made the switch to Leverkusen in 2006 and has become one of the most successful forwards in the Bundesliga over the past two seasons, tallying 41 goals in 68 matches.
