Hoffenheim closes strong to earn first win

Sinsheim, Germany (Sports Network) - After losing its first three games to start the Bundesliga campaign, Hoffenheim collected a 3-1 victory on Sunday against Hannover with two goals in the final eight minutes.

The hosts went behind in the 26th minute to an own goal from Mathieu Delpierre, who redirected a cross from Hannover's Konstantin Rausch into his own net.

However, Hoffenheim was back on level terms almost instantly as Fabian Johnson made a nice run down the left wing and cut inside to beat goalkeeper Ron Robert Zieler.

The two sides remained tied until the 82nd minute, when substitute Sejad Salihovic beat Zieler with a header that he nearly kept out.

Hoffenheim then sealed its first win with another goal in stoppage time as Kevin Volland set up Danny Williams for a simple finish from inside the area.

Bayer Leverkusen 1, Monchengladbach 1

Leverkusen, Germany - Bayer Leverkusen dominated long spells of its match with Monchengladbach on Sunday, but was only able to come away with a 1-1 draw as Andre Schurrle failed to convert a second-half penalty kick.

Monchengladbach got off to a fast start and went in front three minutes into the game through Patrick Herrmann.

But Leverkusen took over from there and leveled the contest nine minutes later with a well-placed shot from Michal Kadlec.

The visitors were relying on some strong goalkeeping from Marc-Andre ter Stegen to keep them in the match, and they had the woodwork to thank in the 70th minute as Schurrle's spot kick crashed against the post.

Werder Bremen 2, Stuttgart 2

Bremen, Germany - Stuttgart still has yet to win in the Bundesliga this season, but the club did come from two goals down to snatch a point with a 2-2 draw at Werder Bremen on Sunday.

Bremen went up two goals in the opening 35 minutes as Kevin De Bruyne and Junuzovic Zlatko had the hosts in control.

However, Stuttgart pulled a goal back shortly after halftime through Martin Harnik, while Cacau netted the equalizer 10 minutes from time before both teams had a player sent off in the last few minutes.
