Hannover secures draw with Schalke

Hannover, Germany (Sports Network) - Nikci Adrian came off the bench to score the equalizer 10 minutes from time as Hannover claimed a 2-2 draw with Schalke at the AWD-Arena on Sunday.

Felipe made the most of his Hannover debut as he was left unmarked at the back post to home the opening goal shortly before halftime against the run of play.

But Schalke bounced back after break to take the lead with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar first tying the game in the 52nd minute when he found space at the edge of the penalty area to drive a low shot beyond the reach of goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler.

It took 12 minutes for the visitors to snatch the lead, and this time it came from the head of Lewis Holtby, who got up above the defenders six yards from goal and redirected the ball past Zieler.

Adrian entered the contest in the 77th minute for Hannover, and he scored three minutes later on his first touch of the match after Jan Schlaudraff got to the end line and pulled the ball back for the substitute to bury with a first-time shot.
