Agger signs new Liverpool contract

Liverpool, England (Sports Network) - Daniel Agger has committed his future to Liverpool after signing a new long-term contract with the club on Friday.

Agger was brought to Anfield from Bondby in 2006, and the Dane is pleased to have secured his future with the Reds.

"It means everything to me. This is where I want to be and I'm happy the club want me," Agger told the club's official website. "I am really happy right now. I've never wanted to go anywhere else.

"I feel I am a part of this club - and I want to be a part of this club in the future.

"I like the way it is going right now with the style we're playing, and hopefully the results will come soon as well."

The 27-year-old has featured in 177 games for Liverpool, including 27 league contests last season.
