NAC thumps Roda to claim first win
Kerkrade, Netherlands (Sports Network) - NAC claimed its first win of the Eredivisie season in emphatic fashion on Sunday, cruising to a 5-1 win over Roda at the Parkstad Limburg Stadion.
The visitors made it hard on themselves as Roda opened the scoring through Mitchell Donald in the 44th minute, but Kees Kwakman managed to get NAC back on equal terms almost instantly to see the two sides head into the halftime interval level at a goal apiece.
The second half belonged to NAC as the visitors produced four goals in the span of 22 minutes.
The first came from Elson Hooi in the 66th minute before Mats Seuntjes added another four minutes later.
Frank Demouge was sent off in the 71st minute for Roda to give NAC an extra man, something it took advantage of to add two goals in the final four minutes thanks to Stipe Perica and Jeffery Sarpong.
Elsewhere in Eredivisie action on Sunday, Steve De Ridder bagged a brace in Utrecht's 2-1 defeat of RKC Waalwijk, Alfred Finnbogason scored twice to hand Heerenveen a 4-2 win over Groningen, AZ Alkmaar cruised to a 3-0 victory over Go Ahead Eagles and Bruno Martins Indi scored at the death to hand Feyenoord a point from a 3-3 draw with NEC.
