Groningen rallies to down Zwolle
Amsterdam, Netherlands (Sports Network) - Zwolle was denied its first win of the Eredivisie campaign on Saturday as Groningen scored twice in the final 10 minutes to claim a 2-1 win.
Zwolle grabbed the lead after 22 minutes with a goal from Youness Mokhtar, and held the advantage until the 84th minute, when Genero Zeefuik equalized for the visitors.
But Groningen wasn't done there and Michael de Leeuw scored four minutes later to hand his team its second win of the campaign, leaving Zwolle rooted to the bottom of the table.
Venlo was also bidding to win its first game of the season and took a 1-0 lead into halftime against RKC Waalwijk courtesy of Marcel Seip's sixth-minute goal.
But Teddy Chevalier tallied the tying goal in the 56th minute and the two sides played out the remainder of the match without a goal, forcing both to settle for a 1-1 draw.
Heracles and Vitesse played to a 1-1 draw as Vitesse's Bonno Wilfried netted the equalizing goal from the penalty spot in the 73rd minute, while NEC and Willem II played to a 0-0 stalemate.
