Kotlov's goal leads Indiana to NCAA men's soccer title

Hoover, AL (Sports Network) - A second-half goal from Nikita Kotlov was enough to lift Indiana to a 1-0 win over Georgetown in the final of the NCAA Men's College Cup on Sunday at Regions Park.

A cautious first half that produced few scoring chances was followed by Kotlov's goal in the 64th minute, which saw Patrick Doody deliver a cross from the left wing to the back post for Eriq Zavaleta, who nodded the ball down for Kotlov to drive into the net.

After scoring four goals against Maryland in the semifinals on Friday, Georgetown's attack struggled, but the Hoyas had one final chance to equalize in the 89th minute when Ian Christianson's looping header struck the crossbar.

The Hoosiers survived that threat and were able to see off the rest of the match to claim their eighth national championship.
