California beats Panama in consolation game

South Williamsport, PA (Sports Network) - Bradley Smith went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored, as Petaluma, California took down Panama, 12-4, in the consolation game at the 2012 Little League World Series.

Logan Douglas, Austin Paretti, Hance Smith, Quinton Gago and Kempton Brandis added an RBI apiece for California, which bounced back from a 24-16 loss to Goodlettsville, Tennessee in the U.S. title game on Saturday.

Douglas gave up three runs -- two earned -- on six hits over five innings for California. He struck out six.

Edisson Gonzalez and James Gonzalez each knocked in a run for Panama, which fell to Japan in the International championship game on Saturday.

Julio Goff, Daniel Cruz and Daniel Fernandez each gave up four runs in defeat.
