Hofstra names Hathaway AD
Hempstead, NY (Sports Network) - Hofstra University named Jeffrey Hathaway its new athletic director on Tuesday.
Hathaway, who agreed to a five-year contract, formerly held the same position at the University of Connecticut. During that time he was a member of the NCAA Division I men's basketball committee, and was the chair of the NCAA Tournament selection committee in 2012.
"Jeff's focus on excellence, ethics, leadership and academics will allow the Hofstra Pride athletics program to move to the next level of excellence," said Hofstra University president Stuart Rabinowitz in a release. "His tenure at the University of Connecticut was one of unprecedented growth, and under his leadership, we look forward to ushering in a new era of Hofstra Pride athletic success."
The school also confirmed an agreement with acting AD Danny McCabe to remain the program's executive associate director of athletics.
