London, England (Sports Network) - Brazil topped Angola on Sunday as pool play in women's handball wrapped up, and secured the top position in Group A heading into the quarterfinals.
Fabiana Diniz, Alexandra Nascimento and Silvia Pinheiro all scored five times to help Brazil to the 29-26 victory.
The win put the Brazilians at 4-1-0 in their group, the same record Croatia had following Sunday's 37-14 rout of Great Britain. But Brazil, which beat Croatia in group play, held the tiebreaker.
It will face Norway, which lost to Spain and slotted in as the fourth-ranked team from Group B. Croatia will face Spain in the quarters.
France had already locked up the top spot in Group B, finishing 4-0-1 after Sunday's defeat of Denmark. Its quarterfinal opponent will be Montenegro, which tied Russia in its final group match and is the No. 4 team from Group A.
In the last quarterfinal matchup, Russia takes on South Korea, which beat Sweden to lock up the No. 2 spot from Group B.
All the quarterfinal matches take place Tuesday.
