Cormier loses out on medal chance

Daniel Cormier lost out on a medal opportunity in the final day of competition at the Olympics.
Athens, Greece (Sports Network)- United States freestyle wrestler Daniel Cormier lost out on a medal opportunity in the final day of competition at the Olympics.

Cormier, who was in the 96kg class, fell to Iran's Alireza Heidari in the bronze medal match. Khadjimourat Gatsalov of Russia beat Magomed Ibragimov of Uzbekistan, 4-1 in the gold medal match.

Cormier was ahead 2-0 in extension time, but then Heidari scored three straight points for the win.

"If I would have kept wrestling the way I was I was going to win the match. I stopped, and that?s just not the way I wrestle," Cormier said.
