San Jose Sharks (14-8-4) at Phoenix Coyotes (12-14-0), 9 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks can match their longest winning streak of the season tonight, when they visit the Pacific Division rival Phoenix Coyotes at Jobing.com Arena.

The Sharks have won three in a row and can equal their four-game stretch from November 11-15 with another victory tonight. San Jose's recent surge has moved the club within two points of Dallas for the top spot in the Pacific.

The last two victories for the Sharks have come on the road, as they've posted wins in Colorado and Dallas. San Jose, which is an impressive 10-3-2 as the visiting team this season, will aim for its fifth consecutive road win when it closes out a three-game swing this evening.

San Jose's most recent win came Wednesday against the Stars. Joe Thornton had the go-ahead goal and added two assists to lift the Sharks to the 3-2 decision at American Airlines Center.

Jonathan Cheechoo and Patrick Marleau also lit the lamp for the Sharks, while Evgeni Nabokov stopped 17-of-19 shots.

The Coyotes, meanwhile, halted a four-game slide with Wednesday's victory over the visiting Los Angeles Kings. Peter Mueller had a goal and two assists as Phoenix beat the Kings, 4-1. The win moved the Coyotes out of a tie with LA for last place in the Pacific Division, but Los Angeles has since pulled even once again.

Steven Reinprecht and Radim Vrbata each had a goal and an assist for Phoenix, which was coming off a winless four-game road trip that concluded Monday with a 3-1 defeat in Pittsburgh.

Shane Doan also tallied, Nick Boynton had a pair of helpers and Ilja Bryzgalov made 28 saves in the victory.

Tonight marks the second of two straight at home for the Coyotes, who are just 5-7-0 as the host club this year. Phoenix will begin a season-high six-game road trip with Saturday evening's game in Los Angeles.

The Sharks are already 3-0 against the Phoenix this season and have won seven in a row in the series. San Jose has also come out on top in three straight and six of its last seven tests in the desert.
