NHL Preview from The Sports Network

Tuesday, November 28th (All times eastern)

San Jose Sharks (17-7-0) at St. Louis Blues (7-12-3), 8 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks will aim for their third consecutive victory this evening, when they battle the St. Louis Blues at Scottrade Center.

The Sharks earned their latest win Saturday night against visiting New Jersey. Evgeni Nabokov stopped 24 shots en route to his third shutout of the season, as San Jose defeated the Devils, 2-0, at HP Pavilion.

Joe Thornton tallied the game-winner for the Sharks, who have won four of their last five tests. Mike Grier added a short-handed, empty net goal with eight ticks remaining to seal the win.

Wingers Milan Michalek (bruised arm) and Jonathan Cheechoo (leg) both missed the game for San Jose. Cheechoo is day-to-day, while Michalek is on injured reserve.

Tonight marks the beginning of a four-game road trip for the Sharks, who are 8-5-0 as the visiting club this season.

The Blues were also last in action Saturday night, but were handed a 2-1 setback by the Phoenix Coyotes. Former Blues goaltender Curtis Joseph stopped 25 shots to help Phoenix earn the victory at Scottrade Center.

Dan Hinote tallied the only goal and Curtis Sanford made 22 saves for the Blues, who failed in their bid to tally a season-high three-game winning streak.

The Blues are playing the middle test of a three-game homestand tonight. They are 4-5-2 as the hosts this year.

The Sharks beat the Blues in overtime back on October 5 and have won three straight and six of the last seven meetings in the series.
