Phoenix Coyotes (7-14-0) at Minnesota Wild (12-8-1), 2 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Minnesota Wild try to end a three-game slide today
when they welcome the Phoenix Coyotes to Xcel Energy Center.
The Wild are 1-4-1 in their last six games overall, including a 4-2 tilt in
Montreal. Alex Kovalev tallied a goal and an assist to help spark the
Stephane Veilleux and Pascal Dupuis scored in the loss for Minnesota, while
Kim Johnsson chipped in two assists.
Goaltender Niklas Backstrom stopped 31 shots in defeat.
The Wild are currently tied with Edmonton for first in the Northwest Division
at 25 points.
Minnesota, which is 8-1-1 on home ice, will visit Columbus on Saturday.
Phoenix, meanwhile, ended a two-game skid on Wednesday, defeating New Jersey,
3-1, at Jobing.com Arena.
Dave Scatchard scored the go-ahead goal and added an assist to spark the
Coyotes to the win. Derek Morris and Owen Nolan also scored while Curtis
Joseph stopped 14 of the 15 shots he faced.
Phoenix has now won three of its last five games overall.
The Coyotes, who are a horrible 1-8-0 on the road, will visit St. Louis on
Phoenix edged Minny, 4-3, on November 14 in Glendale and is 5-2-1 (1 tie) in
the last eight meetings.
