Anaheim Ducks (22-3-6) at Tampa Bay Lightning (14-13-2), 7:30 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Lightning will try to build off an impressive
victory, as they welcome the powerful Anaheim Ducks to St. Pete Times Forum
Tampa Bay is coming off Thursday's 8-0 victory over the visiting Atlanta
Thrashers, who are currently first in the Southeast Division. The Lightning
are tied for third place in the division with Washington.
Vincent Lecavalier led the way in the blowout victory over the Thrashers, as
he notched the fourth hat trick of his career and added two assists.
Martin St.Louis had a goal and four assists and Dan Boyle and Brad Richards
each added a goal and an assist for the Lightning, who snapped a four-game
Marc Denis only needed to make 21 saves for his first shutout of the season
and 16th of his career for Tampa Bay, which has taken four of five games
against Atlanta this season. Also, it was Denis' 100th career win.
The Lightning, who are 8-8-0 as the host club this year, will wrap up a three-
game homestand this evening.
The Ducks, who lead the NHL with 50 points, played in Washington on Friday
night and posted a 6-1 victory. Todd Marchant had a goal and two assists to
lead Anaheim to the easy win at the Verizon Center.
Shawn Thornton, Teemu Selanne and Andy McDonald each had a goal and an assist
while Jean-Sebastien Giguere dazzled in net and finished with 26 saves for the
Ducks, who have won seven of their last eight contests.
Tonight marks the second portion of a five-game road trip for the Ducks, who
are an impressive 9-1-2 as the visitor this season.
The Ducks have won two straight and eight of the last 12 meetings with Tampa
