Colorado Avalanche (12-13-2) at San Jose Sharks (20-8-0), 10:30 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks begin a three-game homestand tonight
when they welcome the Colorado Avalanche to HP Pavilion.
The Sharks had a five-game winning streak ended on Monday, as they dropped a
1-0 tilt in Dallas. Marty Turco made 25 saves to record the shutout and anchor
the Stars' effort.
Evgeni Nabokov allowed only one goal on 13 shots for the Sharks, who concluded
a four-game road trip at 3-1-0. Nabokov has surrendered one goal or less in
three consecutive appearances.
San Jose was shut out for the second time this season.
The Sharks currently sit second in the Pacific Division with 40 points --
eight behind first-place Anaheim.
San Jose will host Nashville on Saturday.
Colorado, meanwhile, has lost its last two games. On Tuesday the Avs dropped a
3-0 tilt to visiting Columbus, as Fredrik Norrena made 42 saves to anchor the
The Avalanche were blanked despite outshooting the Jackets by a 42-21 margin.
That included a 21-4 advantage in the second period.
Peter Budaj finished with 18 saves in the loss.
Colorado will visit Los Angeles on Saturday.
The Sharks edged the Avs, 4-3, on November 15 in Denver and have won four
