(Sports Network) - The New York Islanders hope to end the day atop the
Atlantic Division after visiting the rival Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
With 29 points, the Isles are third in the Atlantic race -- one behind both
the Rangers and Devils.
The Islanders ended a two-game slide on Saturday, as Viktor Kozlov and Mike
Sillinger each netted a pair of goals to lift their club to the road win.
Miroslav Satan registered the other goal, Tom Poti had two assists and Rick
DiPietro stopped 34 shots for the Islanders.
Jason Blake also picked up an assist to push his point streak to eight games.
Blake has five goals and six helpers during the run.
The Islanders, who played their third game since leading scorer Alexei Yashin
went down with a knee injury, will open a three-game homestand on Tuesday
The Rangers, meanwhile, have lost their last three games -- all in either
overtime or a shootout. On Friday they dropped a 4-3 shootout tilt in Buffalo,
as Daniel Briere scored the lone shootout goal to lift the Sabres.
Michal Rozsival, Martin Straka and Michael Nylander scored for the Rangers,
who dropped all four meetings with Buffalo this season. Straka had a three-
point night, while Jaromir Jagr added two assists.
Kevin Weekes finished with 16 saves for the Rangers.
Straka has six goals and six assists during a six-game point streak.
The Rangers will host Pittsburgh on Thursday.
Last season the Rangers won five of the eight meetings against the rival
Islanders. Jagr posted six goals and 12 assists in those eight contests.
