Boston Bruins (12-9-2) at Carolina Hurricanes (14-10-3), 7 p.m.
(Sports Network) - The Boston Bruins shoot for their fourth consecutive win
tonight when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes at RBC Center.
Boston has won its last three games, and eight of the last 10 overall. On
Thursday, rookie Phil Kessel scored in the seventh round of the shootout to
lift the Bruins over the Lightning, 4-3, at TD Banknorth Garden.
Brad Boyes, P.J. Axelsson and Glen Murray tallied regulation goals for the
Bruins, who have won five of their eight victories in the aforementioned hot
stretch in either overtime or a shootout
Patrice Bergeron added two assists to extend his point streak to eight games,
while Thomas stopped 31 shots and improved to 8-2 in his past ten starts.
Bergeron has two goals and nine assists during his current scoring run.
The Bruins will visit Montreal on Monday.
Carolina, meanwhile, has won two of its last three games. On Thursday, Erik
Cole's two goals led the Hurricanes, as they doubled up the Canadiens, 4-2 at
Justin Williams and Eric Belanger provided the other two goals in the win, and
Cam Ward made 25 saves to post the decision in net.
Ward has won three of his last four starts, and is 5-2-0 in his last seven.
Carolina will visit Calgary on Tuesday to begin a four-game road trip.
Carolina managed a 5-1 win in Boston on November 24 and has won four of the
last five meetings.
